Animal Mega Moves: Horses
In August 2010, I was asked to cover the arrival of 16 racehorses in Hong Kong for the National Geographic Channel series “Animal Mega Moves”. Produced by Windfall Films for National Geographic Channel, “Animal Mega Moves” highlights the risks and challenges when moving large and often delicate live animals around the world.
This episode focussed on racehorses that were being airlifted from Ireland to the Hong Kong Jockey Club in Shatin. We covered the horse’s arrival at the airport at 4.00 am, then transfer to their new quarantine stables at Shatin. Most of the night-time and arrival footage in the clip above is mine, plus the footage of the trucks on the highway, and the horses unloading (sorry, this clip is from a DVD, so is not in HD).
