60 Minutes is not the kind of current affairs show you get to shoot for every day.
Its a programme with a very distinctive style, especially when it comes to sit-down interviews. Its not something that can be easily replicated, and in normal times, everything is done by their own in-house experienced camera and lighting crews.
But these are not normal times.
Current travel restrictions and Covid-19 has meant much of the interviewing has to be done remotely — and will likely be that way for some time. But 60 Minutes still demands quality: the want interviewees to be properly lit, and filmed to a professional, very high standard.
That’s where Nick and sound recordist / fixer Mark Roberts come in, able to deliver the highest quality results to very tight deadlines. This one we did for 60 Minutes Australia, in July 2020.
